Xiamen
Terminal lies in the south of Fujian Province along
the coast, the launch-out of the Jiulong River. Its
depth alongside is of 154km, water area 300sq.km, land
area 7sq.km. There're 74 productive docks, among which
11 are 10,000dwt over level. The longest berth of Xiamen
Terminal is 350m, the biggest berth can accommodate
50,000dwt level ships. There're 595 equipments and machinery
for loading/discharging and a 429000sqm stockyard in
Xiamen Terminal.In 1995, the freight throughput of Xiamen
Terminal has reached 13.139m tons, including7190000t
of foreign trade freight. The container throughput is
310000t, passenger 200000 person-time, the throughout
of the terminal itself is 8813000t. It was during the
"Aug, 5" period that the second phase of Dongdu
port area of Xiamen Terminal start constructing, and
was finished and put into use on Dec, 1994. This project
including one container berth at 35,000dwt level, one
coal and char berth at 25,000dwt level, two bulk-cargo
berths at 20,000dwt level and some related equipments.
The yearly layout throughput of Xiamen Terminal is 35000t.
During this period, the extending project of Gaoqi Dock
and Passenger Transport Station have also been finished.
It was also during this period that coal dock central
monitor system which was jointly manufactured by Xiamen
Harbor Bureau and the water carriage scientific research
office of the ministry of communication passed the science
and technology and achievement department of the ministry
of communication's examination and appraise, and its
intergrated level was thought to be at international
advanced level of 1990s.
